Quick answer

The Opry House is at 600 Opry Mills Drive, east of downtown Nashville, beside the Opry Mills mall. Come by car or rideshare; Opry House parking is paid and can be booked ahead for evening shows. On some winter dates the show is downtown at the Ryman instead, so check the venue on your confirmation before you leave.

Where it is

The Opry House stands at 600 Opry Mills Drive, in the Pennington Bend area east of downtown, next to Briley Parkway. It shares the area with the Opry Mills mall and the Gaylord Opryland resort, a district Wikipedia's Nashville article calls Music Valley. It is a different part of town from Broadway and the downtown music bars, so plan your evening as a trip out rather than a stroll from your hotel.

From downtown

From downtown, a car or a rideshare is the straightforward choice; the Opry promotes a rideshare partner for getting to and from shows. Allow time for the walk from the drop-off or the car park to the front doors. There is no timetable to plan around if you drive yourself, and your confirmation gives the curtain time.

The meeting point

Your ticket starts at the Opry House box office. Arrive with your confirmation open on your phone and your ID ready. If anything about the booking is unclear, the box office is the place to ask on the night; before the night, contact the operator through GetYourGuide, where the booking was made.

Parking

Parking at the Opry House is paid. The Opry sells passes in advance for evening shows; drive into the Opry Mills area and follow the signs for Opry House paid parking. A pass covers one entry and one exit, and you scan it to leave the lot, so keep it to hand after the show.

Winter dates at the Ryman

On some winter dates the Opry plays downtown at the Ryman, 116 Rep. John Lewis Way North, billed as Opry at the Ryman. It stands in the downtown core, so the plan changes completely: no drive to Music Valley, and no Opry House parking. Follow the venue printed on your confirmation.

At the door

Enter the Opry House through the doors along the front of the building. Bring a passport or ID card; if you collect tickets at will call, the box office asks for photo ID and your confirmation number. Strollers must fold and be checked at the door, and there is no coat check for anything else, so travel light. Smoking is not allowed anywhere inside.

Access and facilities

The Opry House has wheelchair-accessible seats on both its upper and lower levels. Inside, the lift is in the lobby to the left as you enter, and there are restrooms on every level, with baby-changing facilities in most of them. The Opry keeps the auditorium at a comfortable temperature for the size of the crowd, but a light layer is wise because there is nowhere to check a heavy coat.

What to leave behind

Leave large bags, selfie sticks, plastic bottles and outside food and drinks at the hotel; the Opry House does not allow them, and that includes water. Video and audio recording are prohibited. A personal camera is fine. Food and drinks are on sale in the lobby on both floors and you can take them to your seat.

After the show

Staff send each part of the audience to the nearest exit, which may be a side door. If you are not sitting with the rest of your group, agree a meeting point in the Opry Plaza before you go in, and keep your parking pass or rideshare app ready for the trip back.
